Default Savage flux or Savage xl?

I am looking at getting another 1/8 scale basher and was thinking about these two trucks,

already have a savage xss with an lrp30 and a madforce with a orion picco p3,

so i can swap one of these engines into an xl if i decide to go that route,

ive also been looking at the savage flux, but i know absolutley nothing about brushless motors or lipo packs,
so will need to learn about which battery packs to go for etc,

if you were in the market for a new truck out of these two which would you go for?

The Flux and the 4.6 are pretty much identical. Of course minus the power system. I would go for the flux. Not that one is better than the other, I just think it is fun to try different things, nitro vs. electric.

My short 2 cents

Yeah iv got the 4.6
they are tanks
the xl does not have a good engine
it does not tune well...
the flux is also very cool
it depends on what style you are...
hope i helped

incase you didnt know my last post was dripping with sarcasm, when i asked you about the 4.6,

Get the flux and try that out. Its a totally different animal being brushless. I really like nitro, but its so nice to have the option of picking between nitro or electric depending on where you want to run.

There are a couple places that will get you into brushless/lipo very cheap.

www.hobbypartz.com - They have free shipping in the U.S. which is why i mainly use them.

www.hobbyking.com

Both are really cheap. Here are a couple examples of good batteries from those places that will make the flux fly.

3s lipos:

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...idProduct=8587

2s Lipos:

Chargers:

Honestly, I would reccomend running 4s for reliability, because the torque is still ridiculous. 6s is just insane really, so just be prepared if you go with 6s. Also, when looking at batteries, I would try to stay with something 30c+ and 4000mah+ . This will keep the amp output high enough to satisfy the MMM. Brushless and Lipo are really pretty cheap now that these 2 places are keeping most things in stock. Makes it a lot easier to get into it now than it was before.

I second the go 4s first. It is plenty of power on only 4s, then later try 6s.

I would recomend these http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=14989 . I will be getting some this spring.

I thought about those lipo's, but he isnt in the U.S. so that leaves him out on those. [&:]

Thats pure abuse. Some throttle control will render you lots of run time with no problems.

I've watched it many times. He intentially did that to show off the power of the Blur and Tork under 6s power. Driving under load, throttle control and prepping your tires for mounting and that won't happen. My tires held up fine from this abuse.

As a ex-owner of a Savage Flux, I say go with it if you want speed and just nonsensical power. And be a man and run 3S batteries...save the 2S packs for the wannabes. lol
