Okay guys, so I've been pulling apart my F4.6 due to a bearing failure, and after finishing the teardon and tallying up, I'm looking at about $70 for only what I must have to run it again, and about $170 for a proper rebuild, so I'm just gonna go fir a new engine now, and rebuild the other as a spare later. Why I'm asking y'all though: I can't really afford over $200 bucks, so I can't just get a modded picco like we'd all like to have. Plus, I've heard the lrp.30 is easy to tune and puts out as much power as the stock picco while the picco's a little finicky, and I don't wanna deal with much tuning. Just every seasons change like I do now. What do y'all thing? Better engines I could pick up for under $200?

I think you will like the lrp30, great power and as you said very easy to hold a tune,
mine runs great http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZuNrZhxqg5c

Yes I agree the LRP 30 or spec 3 .28 would get the job done for under the budget. I saw the losi 454 ( same as LRP .28 ) at overdrive r/c for I think 149.00 with the dual start system.

Looks like I was about spot on then? Did a little googling and turned up a lot too. Those Lrp's look like they're screaming compared to mine, had no idea I was missing out. Just one last question before I try to get my hands on one...The "claimed" HP of the Lrp.30 is like double the .28? I know there's no way, but is there that big a difference at all?

There is a difference but not huge. My spec 3 wasn't very thirst and my buddys .30 seems pretty thirsty on fuel. If I did it again id go back to the .28. I got over 11 gallons through it before I got bord and had to spend money so I bought the RB concepts MT10.
The losi 454 is the same engine with a different car, but they run and are build just as good
