Would there be any reason why rubber engine mounts wouldn't work with these engines or do they absolutely need to be solid mounted?

also the engine plate helps dissipate heat as a heatsink, which if there was rubber it would insulate it instead probably causing your engine to run hotter.

it's been a long time since i've messed with these rc trucks. You're right though, i couldve answered the question myself. I was thinking more of the lines of an actual car engine and didn't think about how the gear mess is lined up. silly me.
