Trying to follow the drivetrain. Looks like direct 2wd. What's the tranny
Do now? Or is it still 4wd with shafts? Pic is too dark to tell

It looks like the tranny is basically used for chassis support and brakes. From what else I can see its still AWD. Its definitely a highly modified savage

Good job sunshine on getting the speed demon on a diet, 7.5lbs for a savage is the lightest I have ever heard of [:-]! You should have no problem securing the "world's fastest nitro savage" title, go LL.

Yes this will be interesting!
Do you have a build thread anywhere showing all the mods you have done?
OR do you have some better photos you could share with us?
It looks amazing
Cheers

RE: Re: Nitro Savage Speed truck
The truck started as a xl then as time went on and the need for speed to try to keep up with llkoolskillet on savage central i have got to 54.6 with this pic . had a stock lrp.32 and 3 speed weighing 10.5 lbs ,, but had to go on a diet and a moded mill so im wating on the picco from Rick Brake at RB modes and we will see if 65 mph is possiable .

RE: Re: Nitro Savage Speed truck
even when i had a 3 speed on a stock lrp .32 i had to tune in the third gear shifting paw ,, had to lighten it to make it shift later , but now i do not worry about this being direct drive now. lol

Neal what kind of spring did you use? I found that messin with the spring is super hard to find the perfect rate cause its either to much or to little. For me it is better to mod the pawl.

it was from some onroad car LOL>...not sure what tho...been a few years.....it worked awesome tho....tho I could see tweaking the pawle weight to fine tune the shift point..

RE: Re: Nitro Savage Speed truck
I know someone else that made pawls out of titanium. I might go that route as well. Might as well take my wasted titanium cvds and cut them down into pawls. SMH[:@]
