Default Brake help

I got a new Savage X for my birthday, and I managed to bend the engine plate and all that it was attached to forward. The clutch bell dropped enough to shred the brakes. I've replaced all of the parts including a new brake kit, but now I have a problem. When I engage the brakes, they won't disengage. The servo returns as it should, but the lever for the brakes doesn't return. I can't even figure out how it WOULD. There's no spring on the lever that moves the cam rod for the brakes. Anyone know what I've done wrong?

Look in your manual, check the xploded view - are you 100% SURE you put all the parts back and also, in the right places?

Another issue may be that some other part/screw/whatever has been bent so the pads can't get back to their start position.

I got it fixed. I disassembled the whole thing. Pulled the cam out and the lifter, cleaned it all with a little alcohol, put it back together, sprayed it with some good lubricant, and it worked again.
