Tank isues
I am having so much trouble with my tank.
When it is full it tunes relativley easily, however once i have used up 1/4 of the tank and there is still 3/4 of fuel left in the tank the thing wont tune properly, i dont know whats wrong with it.
COuld this be caused by a presure leak somwhere.
What should i buy to sort it out?

RE: Tank isues
Tegwin I would be interested to know if you are running the Savage 21 tank or the Savage 25 Tank. Well does it have a primer on it?? If so you will want to pick up the savage 25 primerless fuel tank with rear pick up. This should solve a lot of your issues. If you already have the savage 25 primerless tank than I suggest the Header tank modification. I did it and now have consistant temps and fuel pressure throughout the fuel tank.

Tegwin yes the tank should help you. Half of the problem with the SAvage 21 tank is the primer the other half is the front pick up of the gas tank. I bet you have a hard time getting throught a full tank without retuning. I can certainly get through a full tank no problems. Newayz if you want to try you can remove the primer and put a screw there with some shoe goo. Honestly I would pick up the S-25 tank I did and have been thanking myself for it ever since.

Yeah adding the S-25 tank you may still have a little bit of a leaning problem and your temps will be a little bit more consistant. If you add the Header Tank mod you will have consistant temperatures all throughout the tank as well as great fuel pressure. The S-25 tank is about $14.00 and the Hayes 2oz header tank is about $4.00 I used a radiator clamp to hold mine down works great. Just need a little bit of extra fuel line to do it. Even my stock 21BB I have been able to tune since I have done the mods. Newayz good luck.

Do you have a website and part number for the header tank and the s25 tank.
Will i also need something like a primer bulb?

Here is the [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXFZN7&P=7]Primerless Tank[/link] & here is the [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXK828&P=7]Hayes Header tank[/link] I just used a Regular Radiator Clamp to mount mine. Depending on whether you are using the roto start or not it might matter a little bit. No you shouldn't need a primer bulb. I just put my finger over the exhaust and turn the engine over a little bit and it has all of the fuel pressure it needs.

the savage .25 tank has the same prob...i believe it is a flaw in the pressurization of the tank,i eventually had to do the dual tank mod, and now all is well!

Hey Creeping you live near me. I am in Vantucky. Yes that is true the S-25 tank does have a leaning problem but all can be solved with the header tank. As a matter of fact I am trying to solve how I will stop getting so much fuel to the carb now. I am also fighting my tranny hoping to get it to shift into second gear.
