Default click click click

so im out running today and when i brake there is a clicking sound coming from what sounds like the fronhjt gear box. Is it time for the spider mod? I also have the reverse unit in incase it wakes any difference. I am also running stock brakes, should i upgrade them aswell? I still have full 4wd and it brakes quite easily but y does it click?

Thanks

Before u start tearing it down to do the 4 spider mod.. check to make sure the noise ur hearing isnt just the dog bones hitting the inside of the drive cups on acceleration or deccelaration...That happened to me once... Turned out to be nothing

usually with 1/8 buggys this means ur diffs arent shommed right so when tis happened to me i shimmed the diffs out to take up all the slack and the clikin stopped TECHNICALLY if u get the aluminium cases, gearboxes and bulkheads u shouldnt experience this problem ever again

just get new stock ones, what im tryin to say is if u get new stock ones the problem can just re-occur as the stock diff cases can just wear down again

ok if you have a aftermarket engine in there you should have done the mod laready but im not sure if you did. hpi never upgraded the diffs after introducing the new .25 the plastic cases get eaten up fromt he power and you get your gears spinning freely inside it after a while. aluminum fixes that problem. $200? where you figure that from? got o ebay dude. liek $5 or $6 for the gears each and then like $4 for the cross pins each. then $6 for a bottle of diff fluid. the cases are liek $40 shipped for a pair. that comes to $72 total for me dude. big difference form $200. not that bad of an investment if you ask me. a tleast put the 4 spiders in.

$100 for everything, F &R including alum diff housing, 4gear spider mod, and even larger bevel gears included incase you have really meassed up differential. Check ebay or let me know and I will give you seller's id.
I dont know what I did with my stock diffs but when i checked the small bevel gear was outside of the diff housing (went through the plastic housing) so it all had to be replaced. So y not up grade while replacing part if you got the cash.

The diff alum housing that I got on ebay were the Golden Horizen so you know there good. Its like 22 bucks + shipping.. so the figure for 2 diff housing would be more like $46.... So one would be making a bad move to puchase at $80 vs mid 40's, its like half the price.
Dont get me wrong, I am a huge fan of tower hobbies, espically when it comes to their shipping. Ive received my stuff within 3 days from order (3 business days), but have seen better prices on other things so lowest bid wins for me.

gotcha,
the only thing i have against ebay is once i bout a rc boat off of it to find out it had a blown engine, and before that bought a electric boat with hp motors, which said the boat flew, but didnt have enought torque to push the boat. So i dont trust it that much

try $16
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXDLC1&P=ML
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXJLH6&P=RF

just choose your oil/grease and wallah! the bevel gear set comes with enough gears to do 2 conversions.
