i got 48/16 and tryed 47/18 and a heave truck from hop ups and still weelies like nothing
when i get ready i want to try 47/20 and see how fast it is tomarrow

with the 3 speed just install and run no need to adjust it shift just fine

Putting in the new three speed. I bought the preassemled
one. But I opened it up to install the reverse module. Looks real
nice inside. Also installing dual disk brake setup while I have it apart.
I also am installing the HPI steering servo saver. check out the
pic . Two speed is laying next to truck.

I'm curious to hear from someone that has installed the 3-speed with a .28 or .30 engine. I still not sold on the fact that the 3 speed will have a significant improvement in a high RPM/HP engine.

i have a wasp .28 and I have a hard time contolling it like this. With the three-speed, it'll be crazy. i was gonna buy one from Pegasus. Then, I changed my mind.

i got the 4.6 savage stock .28 cant here it shift in 3 but the tires show it and the moter sounds differnt when it does like overdrive started
it dont shift hard in 3 gear nice and soft

Well I was up untill 1:30 saturday night finishing putting in the three speed
and all the other upgrades I've been sitting on waiting for three speed.
Disk brakes, reverse, steering servo saver,new clutch shoes and new rims
and HPI dirt bonz tires. Everything was done last night and I tested all the linkages
for throttle and steering and reverse and they are worked good.
This morning I had to do some work for the in-laws untill noon.
I got home at 12:30 and got my son,its his truck and took everything
outside for test. I put in new fuel just opened today
had my screw driver for tuning, roto start ready and I went to switch on reciever
and dog gone it I had left it on from last night and the hump pack was dead!!!!!
What a dufus I am. stupid stupid stupid. I plugged in to charger at 1:00 pm
and maybe by 4:00 I can try it. Its in the mid 70's outside, I dieing ,what a dufus.

Sorry to hear that somebody please get some video of your truck in action with the 3 speed .I want to see how a 3hp motor runs with this tranny before i buy one

Well We finally tried out new three speed around 4:30.
I had to do some tuning be cause I switched to 30% today.
Also had some sticky brakes but they were new also.
anyway got the brakes working and did some tuning
although tuning could be better the darn thing was flying.
With the ported S25 nitro star and the THS pipe and
motorsaver air filter and 16/47 gear combo and the
lighter dirt bonz tires I had to do rolling starts to
keep front wheels on the ground and even at that
it would still pull them up . Heck I scratched the crap
out of my hand made bumpers. My 10 year old son
who the truck belongs to couldn't believe the difference.
We were doing wheelies in reverse also. The new reverse
module works good. And with the new brakes we can
do brakies to. I have an acre of gound to run on and
we kept running out of room. NExt weekend we'll
find a construction site to run it. Also I do not
own the technology (aka) hardware to up load
video so not vids of fast dog gone truck to share.
sorry. Love this savage. I've put alot of time
and effort and bucks in this thing but when my son and
I take the thing out to run rest of the world disappears.
Just him and I . And I'm down with that!!!!!!!!

Now that the three speed is working good I need
to construct a wheelie bar. Here are a couple of pics
of the one I'm making. Just getting started so I'll
post some pics when its done. I still need to make
an axle and two wheels. After that I'll paint it.
My son wants it to be blue and red. It is his
truck so I guess two tone it is.

Anyone here getting rid of their old 2 speed? I am sure they will start coming available sometime soon with all the 3 speeds coming out. I have been having flaky problems with mine and would like to buy a spare.

Do all the original Tranny gears come out for this new tranny?Any install tips?

yep all gears come out even the one on the revers gear it woks grate
i had to call hpi for the o rings to the carb and they are sending them to me for free
the new .28 cant get parts very easy
