Default NEED QUIETER SAVAGE 25 PIPE

Does anyone know what the quietest pipe there is for a savage 25 or just a quieter pipe than the plastic one or the ribbed aluminum one on the ss 25's? Thanks!

So i'm not the only one that finds them annoyingly loud. [:'(] The Tsais side pipes are quieter and look pretty cool.

From what I read the ribbed is very loud. Do not have my 4.6 SS running yet so I am sorry I cannot say how the one on it is.

The Ribbed is nearly the loudest pipe available. Use an exhaust deflector like this one: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXD635&P=ML
It helps a whole lot.

Now listen here BL! Are we gonna hafta tussel???[>:]

Aren't there mufflers you can attach to the end of the pipe?

The pipe IS a muffler. The deflector referenced above acts kind of like a silencer. It makes the ribbed pipe quieter than the plastic pipe...so imagine what it can do to the plastic pipe!!!

I am getting the same deflector for the same reason. It is not really the sound in open areas but as little as I drive it on my street I know that the neighbors do not like it. My son is probably worse than I am about terrorizing the neighborhood.

I would see if your LHS can order it. I checked the other sites posted by fellow members and found that the part was around $4.00 but the shipping was almost twice as much as the part. Plus if there is not much difference, I like to give my LHS the business even if they have to order it.

Yes, they hold the deflector to the stinger. The deflector wants toide off without at least one wrap. Don't forget that oil that comes out of there...both burnt and un-burnt! Something needs to hold it on. BA - I bought mine from my LHS for $4.50. It was in the airplane section!

When you get one, watch the sizing. They make different ones to fit different sizes of engines. The link that I posted above is for .20-.34 engines and is the one I have. It would probably fall off of a smaller engine's exhaust.

Here is what it looks like on a ribbed pipe.
