To buy or not to buy
Tried to distort the laws of physics and lost. Instead I distorted my TVP's. For those that have done the same, my question is:
-Is it time well spent repairing the TVP's or
-Is it time wasted, in which case I should buy new ones.
Has anybody managed to straighten the TVP's without having any noticable affect, if so, then I shall attempt the same.

Dang! your TVP's look like you ran into a telephone pole!
I've bent my stock TVPs many times by running into things. Curbs, trees, telephone poles, and even a neighbor's car!
I always took them off, took a hammer, and beat them back into shape. 46u is correct, bending them back flat weakens them.
Old style TVPs can be had for very cheap online and replaceing them with shiny new ones is the best thing to do. But if you do not have another set of TVP's and you must run your Savage now, just take them off, remove everything from them, find a flat hard surface and start beating away!

RE: To buy or not to buy
Cheers, I managed to some new TVP's of Ebay for £7.99. I'll bin the old ones. It makes sense for such a small cost compared to what I have spent on the rest of the truck. Whilst looking on ebay I also managed to get a 2 speed gearbox with reverse fitted for just £5.50 what a bargain!
