Servos for X SS
Well i got my X SS yester, and need some advice on which servos to get. I was thinking the HS-645MG for the throttle servo and the Hitec HS-5645 MG for the steering servo. Are these good choices, im open to suggestions, but try to keep it as cheap as possible. Thanks

Thats good, for cheap. Not the best, but will get you along fine. If you want to go to the tops, go for the Hitec 5995, but you need EPA on your radio for that. If you are lost by now, then I advise you stay with the 5645.

RE: Servos for X SS
I just got me two Cirrus servos, for steering the CS704MG with 14.6kg torque and the CS702MG hi-speed with 6.2kg torque and 0.08sec/60deg for throttle/brake. I got them for about 30$ each. Don't know yet how they perform because I'm still building my Xss.
But according the specs they will do. Anyone some experience with Cirrus servos?

I bought a digital HS-5998TG. 250oz torque programabble and especially made for steering in 1/8 vehicules. My friends bought the hs-5955tg and had problems with it. «Anyway, 250oz is well enough.

RE: Servos for X SS
I consider 200oz to be the acceptable minimum. After that it's just a matter of balancing the speed and torque for the application. A small tire lightweight race rig is better served with something like a 200oz metal gear converted Airtronics 358/9 and it's super fast .10S sweep time, where a big tire heavy basher is better off with something like the slower(15S sweep) Hitec 5955 because of it's super powerful 333oz...

I don't have the 5955, I have its sister servo, the robot 5995. So far, my 5995 has survived some serious bashing abuse, including a full speed pass into the curb in which the TVPs were buckled. It is still kicking without any glitches. [8D]

I have this one, an it has taken a serious beating so far. A good steering servo makes a HUGE difference, and is worth spending a little more.
