Imo you should fit that along with the stock tank, more run time too.. And hey, there was a mod like this..

But you're retaining the stock tank...which is the whole reason for the change.

If you want long run times, then get both New Era tanks (side and rear mount) and daisy-chain THOSE.

There's mine installed.

I wonder why new era didn't make the tank bigger? Its already hanging outside the tvp, why not make it deeper?

That tank is not made by new era, its just a 125cc ofna tank that they are selling with the kit. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXBM24&P=7

Pretty much...but it's the convenience of the kit in one place I guess. With the bracket there is NO room for errors. You're either going to rub on the throttle linkage or the rear shock if you mess up the mount.

It's a nice kit, but you could likely do it yourself for less. Most of us don't bother with that though. hehe

Runs great and holds a steady temp. through the tank now. I am satisfied even though it cost $20 or so.

It also makes room for the inline servo upgrade should you want to do that as well. Nice kit.

Also someone said something about making it deeper. That won't work as the tank is mounted directly against the TVP, and BARELY fits inside of the body (mine rubs). If you have an LE body like me you won't be trimming the body out just for the tank.

I'm looking into the feasibility of dual New Era tanks (side and rear).

The only issue might be with the vulnarability of the rear tank, especially if you have a wheelie monster. Running without the body would be a definite no-no.

I had the new era tank but had to go back to stock becuase the shock towers that I used placed the shock right next to the fuel output. So unless you are running stock shock towers the new tank will not work.

That's no issue at all. The rear bumper will protect it unless you land on the rear bumper from 10ft up. Also the tank mounts close to the shock towers underneath the body.

Running without the body would be just as *unsafe* as the stock tank on the side which is more exposed than rear-mount.

I don't bash like you guys do, so these concerns are good to point out but don't concern me honestly. I know the truck is meant for bashing, but I'm just not that brutal on my equipment. hehe
