I still love my Spec 1S in the Savage.. The whole mouse fart thing... is just the comparison between the Axial RR and the LRP in a Muggy/truggy set-up...
The RR goes fairly well in the Savage too - just not better than the Spec 1S...
See for yourself - the RR is OK, but nothing spectacular.. From Saturday - first few tanks with the RR.. Performance basically identical to Spec 1S....

My main point all along is that - for MT's and even truggies IMO - the RR makes no sense to buy...
The Spec 1S though IMHO is a great engine... - for a Savage... That engine has been so good to me, that I just feel loyal to it, like I do to my old Savage 25(RIP..), which, BTW, is why I'll always have a Savage, regardless of how much faster the truggies are...
(also saw a race recently where several race truggies had Spec 1S Axial 28's, and they were doing OK...)
ps And Savagejim, I know, I can't friggin believe I left the stupid memory stick in the computer(cuz I was putting the boring vid of LRP break-in tanks from Sat in...) How 'bout a vid of your Double-RR Sav??
If you try a Double-LRP version, you better get NASA to design you a drivetrain to deal with it.. ONE LRP would probably RAPE a stock Savage inside out..

The RR is by no means BAD.. It's just pointless to spend more than a Spec 1S for it, because from what I have seen it offers ZERO performance upgrade over the Spec 1S.. - at least in a Savage..
For a Savage it's a good, nice .28. Good Axial quality carb, pullstart, etc.. Starts easy, idles well, and on and on.. Just nothing to write home about power-wise.. I actually prefer the Spec 1S, but again - the RR is not a BAD engine - it just makes no sense IMO.
ps The Hot Bodies is sold..
pps I've already ordered a Picco 28 for the LST2.. But now I'm hearing the Picco 28 lacks topend compared to the LRP, so I may have to just sell it(for a profit, here in Germany...) and get a second LRP to go with the one in the Mug..

FYI i found a video on You-tube of a LRP Spec 3 truggy racing a Ninja 28 truggy, the Ninja completely wastes the LRP....... for truggy application none of the pullstart motors will give you the top end your looking for... I know XRC tested pullstarts vs non pullstarts and found no difference, but they also used a low RPM axial as a test mule, which really wouldnt show the difference anyways.......

If thats the vid, then if I DO get myself an Inferno GT, thats the engine I will be getting for it. Picco .28/Ninja .28 are twins right? Also, what would be a best match for a .28 under $180 for a GT? I think I'm finally going to sell the T-maxx, and buy myself one of these babies, they are just TOO sweet. And I love the bodies. I will keep the Savage of course. Tom.[8D]

How can you tell the picco from the ninja?

A Picco has nothing to do with a Ninja as far as I know.. And Ninjas are irrelevant for MT's anyway, cuz they're bumpstart only...

The Ninja is not even remotely related to the Picco.

When I say the LRP has more topend than a Picco it is in my LST. Not everyone would notice it. I ran the Picco for the last 5 months and stuck my trusty old LRP back in this past weekend. The much smoother powerband and slightly higher max rpm allowed me to walk away from anything that was next to me in monster truck class.

Ok then I got it mixed up sorry. I know that the Picco and some other .28 are twins, but forgot the name
Supertib knows, I remember him saying it in another thread a while ago..
