I ran my XL all-out today for the first time. Boy do I love it. Wheelies on command! I broke the thing that the toe-in thing connects to yesterday. Luckily it is universal, and I just put 'er on the other side. I got some pretty sweet jumps in, and just some all around good times. I plan to run it tomorrow after the car show I'm going to.

Today i got around to putting a steel rear shaft onto my savage xss with fastrax extended lower chassis as the crap alloy one twisted
first tank out[:@],

the 108mm shaft came from a hyper 8 buggy

i then went to my local hobby shop and picked up a new parma f-150 xlt bodyshell,

when i got home there was a parcel left by the postman which was an auction i won on ebay for a set of 19mm ofna pirate rims with
an almost new set of imex chevrons fitted to them, i was going to use an old set of kyosho 14mm to 19mm conversion hexes i had laying around to mount them, but once i took a look at the rims they were not 19mm hexes but were in fact 17mm which bolted right up to the standard hex on my savage xss[sm=teeth_smile.gif]

im sure the hex size error in the auction put off alot of buyers which is why i got them for just over 11.00 gbp,
the guy had them laying around for a year which is why they look so dusty,

i fitted the rims and then painted the body and fitted an old set of parma stickers that ive had for a while to it

have not got to run the truck since fitting the extended chassis over a week ago

Fastlane brushless conversion chassis with extended wheelbase and Mamba Monster ESC. Currently running 6xl motor but that will change when I can afford it. 3 speed transmission.

Speaking of that, I've got a sweet lid that should be coming tomorrow. Too bad it wont fit with my engine currently bent over at an 80* angle thanks to a second bent FLM engine plate. Time to go Innovated R/C.

Don't worry, rcnitrohead knows of such days

Today I had some work to do on the savy in prepararion of the arrival of my clocked picco next week. Started out by adding a high torque JR z9100T servo. 300 oz. at 4.8v, 370 at 6. (Not sure what my dx3s actually supply as far a volts. Anyone?) Then I started to install the Golden Horizons steering linkage but after much trial and error found it worked better with the GH poles and the stock slider bar(aluminum just wasn't smooth but now she will do a full left or right turn at a stand still on thick carpet.) Next I added front and rear GH aluminum shock towers. First time pulling the towers as well as the radio box and steering linkage so all in all it took forever but I learned alot.

Sorry Savagebane, Forgot to mention I won a Hyper 9 on ebay and will be putting the old 9886 pipe on my O.S. Max RZ when she arrives monday and the new 086 on my savy when the picco arrives. I do have a nitro 4 tech and a kyosho MP7.5 if u want. LOL

With the top off. Still a few things to hook up but as you can see the weight balance is good now with the transmission moved way foward. Also fitted a Hitec metal gear steering servo.

That's funny, I went bashing with 2 great guys also. One guy brought his sweet lowered Flux with baddazz purple Cuda body and the other I watched bust up his Savage to no end and make repairs to the tires and shocks every 20 minutes with CA glue. There's even a video of a few of the jumps he hit right here in the HPI Monster Truck Forum

yesterday i finally got the whole truck back together! Everything...
it has been in pieces since like February i think. I feel bad cause i put everyone on the back burner so that i could get my savage and MT2 back together again.
I am so happy that i will get to run it next saturday...if the family permits

Just to catch up, I installed a ZR.30 with a Mugen Flywheel, springs and shoes, then put new bearings in a vented 16 bell. Within an hour of hitting the ground, I had roasted the plastic second gear in the transmission. I will be digging out another transmission or at least parts from that Savage Salvage yard I call a basement. I am sure I have five ir six two speeds amonst the remains of several three speeds down there someplace. [:-] Maybe the thing can burn some more fuel this afternoon, if the rain lets up!

New transmission is in, old stainless brakes are out, new red fiber dual brakes are in, truck is on the charger, freshening up the hump battery. Time for a nap and maybe today the 30 can get lit up again.....
