It sure is flashy and impressive to look at! Makes my Picco P3 28 look kind of smallish... Hopefully by the end of the weekend, I will have some video of it in a XL with a two speed.

I will take it apart and seal it up tonight. That engine mount it is resting on is a broken one, I just used it to support the engine. Glen

Glen I have been waiting for you to get one I really want to see how it runs. I'm also glad you are going to put it in a XL first [sm=shades_smile.gif]

That thing is pretty big compared to even that .28 Picco! Can't wait to see it in action... Hopefully it's a real pleaser!

Yes you should! If you want some help, send me a PM and I will call you!

I have done that too many times, you learn to look under the edge of the starter and pry the center of the starter off of the starter shaft as you remove the recoil starter. Just last night, I knocked one off of the table, yep... it unloaded all over the floor. I managed to get it back together, but they sure can be frustrating!

That thing is pretty big compared to even that .28 Picco! Can't wait to see it in action... Hopefully it's a real pleaser!
That is my hope too, I am hoping for a strong running engine, easy to tune, something with a good power boost to recommend to new people without carb issues, tough breakins, something dependable and user friendly with a good parts backing. A 200 dollar class engine that is easy to live with and makes big power. That would be nice... Glen

ThunderbirdJunkie does not understand how you people have the patience to recoil a pullstart spring.

He would seriously rather just pay $20 for a new one. Hence all the NIB SH pullstarts laying around here...

Thats a pretty nice looking motor Glen.

What kind of runtimes do you get on a stock tank with the picco .28 Glen? It seems most people say the LRP is a fuel pig. Not sure, but id be curious to hear what kind of run time you get on your picco.

Depends upon what you are doing with it. Normally though, I get 10 to 14 minutes of raw video per tank.

The mach 427 is a great motor also, easy to tune.
The only bad thing about the mach is the alum carb.
I think a lrp .28 or .30 will be next in my savage.

I did the Tower Hobbies thing, 199 sollars, added some small parts to get the total over 225 then took advantage of the 30 dollar discount, free freight and no sales tax. So, 169 dollars to my door. I fired it up today, but did not drive it. I should have a break in video later.

My money is on the bet this engine will be all that is expected and more. All I know is I use three XTM .457 pro's and they are everything I want. Also they are not gas hogs. The XTM is the same as the LRP Spec 2, so I would think the .30 Spec 2 would be similiar to the XTM, only more.

waiting for the video.

So here are the comparison pics of the LRP .28 Spec 3 and the LRP .30 Spec 2:

Excuse the fact that the .30 doesn't have it's pullstart...for the sake of my sanity and fingers, I gave up on putting it together and just ordered a new one.

Speaking of the pullstarts, why are they so friggin huge!!?!?!?!

I stuck the .28 in it's new home (1/8 scale buggy), and the only thing keeping it from being a perfect fit is that bulky pullstart. I have to hit up home depot tomorrow to get some longer screws and some washer. I will say though...that .28 and a Dynamite 056 pipe is gonna make my buggy scream...and then I get to stick the .30 and an 086 pipe in my XL.....I may end up having two pretty fast RCs on my hands...woohoo!!!

Cummins, I have been running an LRP .28 in my XL, and I can sya that it isn't a fuel hog...I probably average about 15 minutes of run time myself.....not sure about the .30, but I'm gonna guess it will be about the same.

[link=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVD8em6mLiU]A two pull first start![/link] I spent over an hour on the can, I was having a hard time building heat and the engine is very tight. It did everything just like it was supposed to. I had several one pull starts and one 30 pull start. I flooded it, had to take the plug out and clear the chamber, oh well.... Hopefully it will be driven tomorrow. Glen
