RE: i was told.....
grease the dogbones?
uhh that would attract dirt, and debris to hold on and would probably cause more damage than anything... as for the diffs yes you need diff oil (or HPI uses grease) |
RE: i was told.....
yeah, that sounded wierd to me too. maybe i misunderstood the guy, so should i just leave the dog bones alone?

How long have you had your Savage?

RE: i was told.....
its a savage x ss 4.6 roller that i just bought from some guy, he said it has been sitting for about a year now, but it is VERY VERY clean

RE: i was told.....
I know some folks who do grease their dog bones (and I believe they use dust caps to prevent build-up), but I personally would not advise it. As long as you keep it clean (i.e. every five tanks remove the dog bones from the drive cups and clean it all out) there is no need for grease. WD-40 after cleaning it might not hurt. The whole idea (as you probably know) is to ensure there is nothing that would affect the mesh between the dog bone and drive up, causing friction. Thanks</p> |
