RE: 1/2 tank lean help
This will fix your half-tank lean issues; if you still run hot, you're gonna have to do some work.... Remove the engine. Take off the roto-backplate/pullstart. Remove the back cover and use a hi-temp gasket sealer from the autoparts store. Now remove the carb and seal the neck. Those NS25s sometimes seem to like leaking air....

RE: 1/2 tank lean help
yeah, my s-25 runs hot even with a frickin nova head on it.

RE: 1/2 tank lean help
I cant remember why people dont tune their engines at half a tank.... Ok, so its a little rich at first, but at least it gives you something to look forward to.....

RE: 1/2 tank lean help
OK, I have spent a lot of time on this. I've tried numerous fixes including a Hyper 7 tank (2nd favorite fix) and the header tank mod. The best fix is the uniflow setup (hands down). No matter if your backplate is sealed or not you are going to have self-leaning issues with the savage tank. Go to savage-central.com and search for uniflow.

ORIGINAL: andersonb OK, I have spent a lot of time on this. I've tried numerous fixes including a Hyper 7 tank (2nd favorite fix) and the header tank mod. The best fix is the uniflow setup (hands down). No matter if your backplate is sealed or not you are going to have self-leaning issues with the savage tank. RE: 1/2 tank lean help
That's too bad it didn't work out for you. I certainly can't argue that the Ofna tank wasn't effective, I just missed the runtimes. The uniflow was actually the last thing that I tried and my temps do not fluctuate at all.

RE: 1/2 tank lean help
Sweet; what's easiest and cheapest is definitely what's best...
|
RE: 1/2 tank lean help
Tried a search for uniflow and it came back with nothing. Can someone post a link to the actual article or give a brief synopsis of the mod and parts needed?
|
RE: 1/2 tank lean help
This is possibly the best forum discussion on uniflow:

RE: 1/2 tank lean help
That's where I got my info...
