JR Z590M servo????

Hey all, yet another question. Do any of you use the JR Z590M servo as the steering servo? This is in a Savage SS 4.6. In the manual it states that you must use a servo with at least 5kg/cm of torque, and the JR servo is 85oz/in. Any suggestions, advice or testimonials??

Cheers

Yes, I have had a JR Z590M servo in my 4.6 SS for 5 gallons. Actually worked pretty good but there were times when I could tell it was not holding the wheels turned all the time. Especially with Big Joes or a larger diamenter tire.

However, overall, it worked just fine. This week-end I switched over to a Hitech 645 MG servo just for the fun of it. Maybe the Hitech is a little better, but not by a whole lot. So, from my experience the JR is Ok, the Hitech is a little better but neither really move the front wheels the way they should to be perfect.

Thanks guys...I just spoke with my LHS and he doesn't have the 650 in stock right so I'm going to put the 590 in and see if it's even worth replacing. I have a set of Big Joes that I was going to take off my Revo and put in the Savage but I think I will stick with the Dirtbonz in the Savage for now, especially if the servo doesn't provide the torque needed to move them all the way.

RE: JR Z590M servo????

The JR servo will turn the Big Joes all the way. What I ment was in rough stuff, and hard turns on asphalt, the servo could not always hold the tire at the initial desired turn under any and all conditions. Sometimes I had to ease up a little to hold the steering. Nothing too bad, just trying to be complete in answer about that servo. You should go ahead and play around with the Big Joes, won't hurt a thing.

Thanks BigGrump! I'll put the Z590 in and give it a go with the Big Joes, like you said, mess around with it!

I have 2 Z590's on the steering of my LST (Comes stock that way) turning big Joes and that setup works great!
