Or PM the users named ThunderbirdJunkie or 46u, they are both sponsored by STS. Even if you found the engines on the web, they can help you if you want to know anything about them (hope they don't mind me telling people this! [:-]). No, seriously, 46u is a top guy, he'll help you out with anything you need to know.

i have read about that, the pinch on the old 30 was loose and the new one was tighter. the one i orderd just said new and no other numbers given.

Just an FYI....

All engines that came out since the beginning of 2007 are the new engines with a tight pinch.
I've seen how tight they are and I've made an executive decision to stock up on pull starters :D

I bought a D30M, I asked for the tighter pinch, but got the old one instead. They told me it was the new one, but it was not.

I'm going to get the .28 after the holidays, I'm so happy! Too bad I dont have the extra cash for the .30 but I'll manage;) After this it's Chronics TVP's and a 3 speed. Ive been riding on hammered up TVP's for too long:D Ever since my truck got run over, can you guys believe that I still have the original TVP's from that incident? Too bad I didnt have a digi cam to share pics when it happened last Feb. But my ol .25 is still puffing[>:] Only 2 gallons on it lol[8D] Tom.

NO NO NO, WE CAN'T HAVE THAT!!

Just kidding, and 46u knows more than I do, but we can both answer anybody's questions. outside of that, supertib is the big expert on STS engines though, he's forgotten more about nitro engines in general than I'll ever know

And Jim, are you SURE that yours isn't the uber-tight one? I know mine is tighter than my 21B is...I should blow through more than a few sets of rotostart gears with this sucker during breakin, LOL

OH, and Foxy, we're not sponsored by STS the manufacturer...just the USA's highest volume importer of STS engines. Thanks for the mention though:)

jim by the pictures of your sleeve, you did get a newer revision...look at the area under the boost port, the old sleeve's had a very skinny narrow little band under the port, the newer versions have that band beefed up .

Are these motors any good?I am searching for the right motor and have sooo much to choose from,Axial spec 1s,Ofna Force,Dynamite,Picco,I have a stock Monster GT 4.6se,the stock motor finally gave up after almost 2 years ! I am stuck trying to make a decision on which to buy,I dont have a buttload of cash to blow, but I would like to have a reliable motor that will be easy to tune, and have more horsepower than my stock associated .28 any info would be gratly appreciated ! :D

STS D28M would be a great choice for ya. won't break the bank, but it might break drivetrain parts;)
