Savage steering mod

Hey guys,

Just finished deanodizing all the ugly purple aluminum parts on my truck, btw it looks great, but i figured while i have my truck apart id try out the steering mod i have heard a little about. The steering throw on the truck is just not enough, it takes almost an entire two-way road to turn it around. Now i heard that you have to shave some of the c-hub, knuckle, and diff housing, am i correct? It'd be great if any of you guys have pictures explaining the steps in the mod or have any knowledge about it. I'm hoping to get my truck back together tonight so i can drive it tomorrow, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

How much does this decrease the turning radius?

RE: Savage steering mod

it doesn't.

Um, it DOES, why else do this mod? :)

I am curious...Does anyone know of this needs to be done with GPM aluminum carriers and uprights, or is it even possible? I plan on getting those, but I want tighter turning even more.

read your camera's manual, and read about the Macro feature. That will help when taking close-up pictures.

When you say the exact same thing in a dickish way that ThunderbirdJunkie did over 12 months ago, yes, there is.

Welcome to RCU btw. ThunderbirdJunkie is not always an A-hole.

Not a A-hole at all, but he does refer to himself in 1st person all the time. Don't worry you will get used to it ;-)

If you make them turn too sharp they're gonna roll over like crazy. I don't like walking 80+ yards to flip them back over.

<div>I will have a look and see if I can post pictures....and also see if it makes any difference whatsoever </div>

just had a quick look and it seems you just shave off this bit on both sides of the knuckle, and on the other side as well <div>

I came to release anymore steering angle and my badlands would rub on the shocks, so thats a no go

djyjrlz 03-01-2011 06:52 AM

RE: Savage steering mod

yeah i had that same problem but then i realised i didnt need 8 shocks as i wasn't jumping or smashing it about so i just removed the inner shocks and i was good to go
