Default Reinstall

Hi,
I have just purchased a new computer and would like to reinstall Aerofly Pro Deluxe. Do I need to install my original Aerofly and go thru each upgrade? Where is the data file located so I can copy settings?
Also purchaseing Aerofly 5.

Ken, I have a few questions:

- Do you have AFP or AFPD?
- Which addons do you have?

If you want to save your current settings, backup the "config" file which you can find in the main directory, then copy it back to the directory after the re-installation

If you're getting AF5, just be aware that you can get the upgrade version from AFPD to AF5. Ensure that your computer system (PC or Mac) meets the system and video card requirements here http://www.aerofly.com/requirements_en.html

I have AFPD with AddOn 5. I purchased the new computer with AF5 requirements in mind.

Ken, this should be the install sequence: main AFPD disk, addons, latest patch. When you have upgraded to AF5, you do not have to uninstall AFPD as AF5 is a separate install. You will use the same usb interface for both AFPD and AF5

Hi Mike,
Now the fun starts. I'm running Win 7 Pro 64 bit with Nvidia 9800GT, 1 GB, video card.
AFPD runs fine up to V1.9.13. As soon as I install AddOn 5 or patch 1.11.07.21 it will not run. I had both these installed on my old machine.
It keeps asking for Open GL 2 or higher. I went to Nvidia site and downloaded latest driver which they say supports Open GL. Still will not work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Ken,

1) Tell me exactly what kind of hardware you have, especially 3D graphics card, CPU, and any other hardware installed, sound card etc.
2) What is the RAM size?
3) Which operating system are you using, XP or Vista? 32 bit or 64 bit?
4) Tell me exactly what drivers you installed for the 3D graphics card.
5) Which addons do you have?
6) What is the version number printed on your main AFPD disk?
7) How did you install the main disk, addons, and patch (which version?), and what was the sequence of installation?
8) Post the tm.log file which you can find in the AFPD directory

You may open the file with a text editor like word or notepad. Just copy and paste the entire content into your post.

Did you get any error message? Pls let me know the version number printed on your Addon 5 disk. During the installation of Addon 5, did you activate it using the key on the disk? From your tmlog file, it appears that Addon 5 and the latest patch were not installed. Did you install to the correct AFPD directory?

Hi Mike,
Been super busy plus internet was down couple of days. I got AddOn 5 to install. The key was installing everything in proper version order.
However I still cannot get the latest patch, 1.11.07.21, to install. I get several error messages which I will list below.
I have received my AeroFly 5. Will this install over AFPD or will it install in a new directory ?

What's the version number printed on your Addon5 disk?

AF5 will install in a separate directory and will not affect AFPD. So, you can still run AFPD after installing AF5

Ken, there is insignificant difference between 1.11.7.19 and 1.11.7.21. In fact Addon5 does not require patch 1.11.7.21. So, you may skip the 1.11.7.21 patch installation without any issues.
