Installing AFPD with AFP on computer

I friend of mine just bought AFP Deluxe
It will not intall. The CD stops about 75 to 90 % complete.
I would like to install his AFP Deluxe on my computer to check if he had a CD problem
or a Computer problem.
I have AFP on my computer Not AFP Deluxe.
Can I just install his AFP Deluxe without effecting my existing AFP ??

Like you said, check the CD on another computer to confirm.

You can have AFP and AFPD on same computer no problem. This really is not an upgrade, this is a new version it does not write over AFP.
