AFPD needs help

I have pent 4 with 1.5 and 780 ram, fxgeforce 5200 video card and the latest driver. The edges of the wings and fus. show pixals when flying away from you at a distance. Up close perfect! My question is if I buy a upgraded video card say a geforce 6600 or 6800 would quality of the models be better or am I just wasting money? Also with the reflex system when flying fast the back ground senery kinds of shudders not smooth at all. Could this be the 5200 card or is there something else that I'm missing? [>:]

RE: AFPD needs help

Well, I had a problem kinda like yours I think. The airplanes/hellicopters were not really pixelated but just look scratchy. Its hard to explain it. So I figured the first thing I should try is to get new video drivers, so I did. Additionally, I didn't get the 3 YEAR OLD drivers that dell has for my gpu, (128mb ATI Radeon 9600 Pro Turbo, (mobility)). I got my drivers at http://www.omegadrivers.net/ I would reccomed that you either A- reinstall your current drivers, or B- get new drivers. Heince, getting new drivers fixed my problem. I'm suprised, now omega drivers has drivers for nvidia, (they used to only have ATI) http://www.omegadrivers.net/nvidia/win2k_xp.php Omega drivers increased my fps a little, and I like there options and layouts better then your everyday standard drivers. If your game still has the same problem, then buying a new gpu should help, however, I would highly reccomend that you play graphic intense games like BF2, COD2, HL2, etc... to see if you have the same problem with the pixles.... If you don't have that problem with the other games, its a bug or glitch with AFPD, which is why I reinstalled new drivers and my problem was fixed. Since you asserted that you have the newest drivers for your gpu, you can reinstall them or try different drivers.

Hope this helps,
Matt
