USB interface for AFPD

Does anyone know if I can use the Realflight Nexstar edition USB interface to connect my Futaba 9CAP to AFPD as the secondary controller? I have the Game Commander version of AFPD and my rudder gimbal has gone nuts on me.

If this is not possible, can someone give me some advice on getting the Game Commander repaired? I think it is just the pot on the rudder axis.

Thanks,

Bob

RE: USB interface for AFPD

Hey Bob, You'll have to have the Game Commander plugged in as it has the chip in it to unlock the software. I am not 100% sure if the other USB will work or not, do not see why it wouldn't.

Thanks, PP, but I've been trying it with the GC plugged in, but alas, no success.[:o] Any one else with a suggestion?

RE: USB interface for AFPD

BobRob,

For what it's worth--- I've tried without success to use G3's included Hitec/Futaba Tx adaptor dongle to run AFPD with my Hitec Tx... (Yes I am using the proprietary AFPD USB copy-protect interface, it's just that I no longer have the Hitec Tx adaptor dongle to go with it)...

I know that the AFPD and Reflex Tx adaptor dongles are interchangeable in this situation, so I was surprized to learn that the G3 Tx adaptor dongle apparently doesn't work the same as either the AFPD or Reflex Tx adaptor dongle in this situation...

I haven't pursued this further but I presume that this means that G3 maps the signal information differently somehow, could be as simple as reversing the signal and ground mapping...

Hopefully someone else can provide more specifics, but perhaps this is a hint as to where the problem lies...
