How do upgrade to 1.9?
 

I have a 1.8 AFPD. I noticed the new downloads are set up to run on 1.9, how do you get it?

Hi lwatson, if you do not have any addons then the correct patch is 1.8.0.25 which you can download from here http://www.aerofly.com/www/downloads.html I am not sure if you're referring to model downloads written for version 1.9.x.x AFPD, but if thats your question, you can still run the models in version 1.8.x.x AFPD by doing the below modification to the tmd file:

Go to the aircraft directory C:\Program Files\IPACS\AeroFly Professional Deluxe\aircraft and open the aircraft file.
Look for the .tmd file and open it with a text editor like notepad or word

Now you need to alter this line in the .tmd file:

// aerofly professional --------------------------------------------------------
//
// file: xxxxxxx.tmd
// version: 1.9.0 <<<<<<<<ALTER THIS LINE TO: // version 1.8.0
//
// type: 20
// lock: 0
//
// -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Then click save

Thanks Mike,

I was thinking I was falling behind on the patches. Do the add-ons make it go to 1.9? Any recommendations for the best add-on? Is there going to be a 2.0?

I really do like AFPD, it flies very much like the real thing and there are lots of free airplanes to download. So I am OK with sending some money to Ikarus if it is for a good reason. Thanks again.

Hi lwatson, I would recommend addons 1 and 2. For those you'll need patch 1.9.7.11. The latest addons are 3 and 4 (see sticky on top of this forum) but you'll need patch 1.11.7.9 and a more powerful video card.
