Unable to locate usb connection

I'm using pro deluxe, program is unable to locate usb connection. I removed the program from the hard drive and did a fresh install. Downloaded the update. I still get the prompt of unable to locate the usb connection. I also checked on the game controller settings, nothing. I'm running on a windows XP, quad core with an Nvida BFG 9800+oc video card, 4 mb ram. Also plug into a JR 2.4 9303 TX. The program worked fine a few months ago....?
