Default Trenton IMAC

Who all is going to the Trenton IMAC contest this weekend? I am planning on going (Intermediate) and Bob Mackie is going to fly in Sportsman. Who else will be there?

I just bought a used motorhome, so hoping the trip goes well and hoping to have others to camp with.

See you there.

Gene had the Yak back flying this past weekend - pretty minimal damage. Kurtis and I were out flying yesterday in some serious 90 degree crosswind. Kurtis was SMOOOTH -so brace yourselves, boys.

Not any more!!!.... Gene called me yesterday & said his Yak went in during practice on Tuesday afternoon. His engine died while inverted for the push Immelman & he did not have enough altitude to make the runway.... It got damaged but it is repairable..... I don't think he will be in Trenton this weekend.

Joe Cutright & myself will be there for the contest.

Sorry to hear about Gene's YAK. Me and my wife are here at Trenton. Got in about 2pm. Weather is nice for practicing in the wind. Northeast wind. Real bumpy earlier. Now 6:30 and it's calming down a bit. Field is in great shape, well groomed. Looking forward to the friends coming in tonight. Be safe and see y'all in the morning. Mike Chandley

scores....we got scored?

Well, I can report on the Advanced and Unlimited, not to sure on the other classes..so if I am incorrect, jump in...

Unlimited: 1) Brian Hannah
2) Joe Cutright
3) Adam Ranck

Advanced 1) Ron Storer
2) Pedro Jordan
3) Joe Ryan

Intermediate 1) Craig Baker
2)
3)

The Unlimited class had very good flying this weekend...Brian had to fly a borrowed plane for his first round due to battery failure in his own. At times through the contest it was only 70 points from 1st to 4 th place....after all said and done, it was only 2 points that seperated 3 to 4, 100 points from 1 to 2...not sure on the spread from 2 to 3, but I am sure it is very tight.
Advanced was strong as well, Ron Storer was on a mission, winning every round if I am not mistaken, the whole class was battling it out to the end.
Everybody had a good time, the rain never showed up, but the winds sure did, you could barely feel the wind on the ground, but in the air....oohhh boy! There were several times I found myself further out than I liked to be, and had to "crab" my way back in.

Until the Regionals...

Joe

Hey guys, I stopped in to Trenton to see what IMAC was all about. Somehow I got the feeling that it was not how I imagined it would be just reading about it. Anyway, I was impressed with the number and size of the planes there. Seemed that everyone had a 40% something or other, now I know why. You guys fly waaaaay up there most of the time. Looked no larger to me from the ground than my 120/140 sized stuff, sometimes smaller. My girlfriend came with me and she kept saying "Hey Honey, did you see this one?, oh, take a picture." We didn't stay long but had a good time just watching and chewing the fat with a couple of locals there at the booth. Looked to me like you'all had a pretty good time flying except for the wind gusting. Some of the landings looked pretty scary. Just wanted to post a few pics of the event. I don't know who these planes belong to as I really didn't know anyone there. I am sure you guys know.
