I know a couple of guys who run DA 85's in 40-55 lb warbirds. They run them hard (no hovering obviously) and they get better and better with every run. It would be my second choice after a radial that I can't afford (unless I quit making my house payments). I would buy the DA 85 myself after watching them closely for a couple of years.

Current versions - very good product.

The first ones had a few issues but those issues were very promptly dealt with by the factory.

I am neither a current user nor seller of them so consider this to be a 100% independent comment.

+1 on this. I have a couple friends who have 85's on the H9 Sukhois (blue with the yellow shnozz). If you believe the online chatter, they were supposed to shake the light airframes to pieces. Nope. Great engines. I would buy one also after watching them perform in those birds.

I had an early edition DA85 and everybody said they shook. I didn't really think so but sent it to the factory for the updated piston. The Factory did the update free and it's even smoother. I think it s a great engine . So much so that I designed a 75"WS 10-300 Ultimate for it . What a beast! Love the combination.:D You can't beat the service the DA gives.

It is simple. There were some issues on some of the very early ones but the factory did the right thing - they listened and they fixed them.
That level of service is why you hear good things.

There isn't a product manufacturer in the world that hasn't had product issues at some time or another. What makes the difference is how those issues are addressed. DA is a company that addresses issues efficiently and with a very high level of customer service.

cool,I like the idea of a 85 cc size IMAC plane. 50 cc is to small, and 100 cc are to big to transport(for me).
