I am getting ready to order one with a DA 100 and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with one of these? Thanks alot

I ordered the same combo. There are some videos on Downonthedeck.com along with a review. Timindy on rcu also has the extra with a BME 110 along with some video. I can't wait to get my hands on it.

thanks ya I have seen the videos from down on the deck but you cant really ever tell how good something flys in those videos because Joe Hunt could fly a .40 trainer and make it look better than most of us with a 40% Carden

The WH Extra is as close to a TOC quality plane that's an ARF as you can get. On top of that they are a good value. In fact, I have liked the WH Extra so much that I recently bought a second one in a different color scheme. Its hard to describe how good the WH Extra really flies but I assure you that once you get your hands on the transmitter of one you'll instantly feel its quality and develop am extreme level of confidence in it. With the DA 100 you will have unlimited up-line performance, incredibly stable slow flight capability, and if you're into 3D the ability to do anything you can think of. My setup on the Extra is as follows:

* DA 100 with DA's standard mufflers
* Mejzlik 28x10
* TruTurn 4.5" Menz cut spinner
* 6 Hitec 5945's on ailerons and elevators
* 2 Hitec 5945's PLUS 1 Hitec 5735 on the rudder (2 servos in the rearward cutouts plus the 5735 using a 4" arm in a pull-pull configuration under the hatch) which makes for an incredibly strong rudder configuration
* 2 Hitec 605's on throttle and choke
* 2 Hitec receivers
* 2 6.0V 2150 mAh NMH batteries driving the receivers and servos
* 4.8V 1650 mAh NMH battery for the ignition
* 3 heavy duty switch assemblies from Cermak

I've used the heavier duty wing tube and main gear both of which are available through Wild Hare. My all up weight is just under 30 pounds dry. Even at 30 pounds it flies very light so my second WH Extra 330 is being set up in a similar fashion. In my opinion you will certainly be satisfied with your decision to buy this plane and motor combination.

I had an opportunity to fly one recently and the impression I got was that it is not as 'locked-in' as a composite-arf extra. The plane needed more work on the setup, and will likely be very competetive when dialed in. For me personally though, I'll be sticking with the composite-arf.
