What will your imac planes look like in the future??
Just thought this would be an interesting discussion topic. What is the next generation of unlimited acrobats look and fly like after the current used monoplanes, will they follow rc trends with extreme power to weight? will they stay with the conventional monoplanes??

The next Generation

You are on the runway at air show center, engines idling. When the cue comes, you take a deep breath and advance the throttles to full power. Instantly you are thrown forward at some 1.4 Gs, straight down the centerline.

Within three seconds you are airborne, accelerating rapidly as you rotate into a vertical climb. You ease back on the throttles and listen for the variometer indicating zero climb at about 200 feet. With airspeed pegged at zero you nimbly roll to the left, feed in some rudder, and translate horizontally back down the runway. Directly over your takeoff point you bring the airplane to a stop and wave to the crowd. A “curtsy” with a wag of your tail signals the beginning of your performance.

COOL! LOL have you ever thought of maybe taking him up?

LOL Shorty. I'm sure he'd like that. But keep this fact in mind: models will always be able to do more than full-scale. There are some things, like 540 stall turns, absolute precision, etc, that models can't do, but has anyone ever seen a full scale climbing flatspin?

Anyhoo, I guess Sean Tucker can pull vertically out of a torque roll with his Oracle bipe now.

A torque roll on a full scale plane? Is that even possible

Try the one with the torque roll/rolling harrier. Now think about it, all he needs to keep that there is more power, and that's what Sean Tucker has, so why not?

There's also a video of the Breitling Sukhoi torque rolling on the Breitling web site. http://www.breitling.com/eng/aeronautics/index.html click on the pilots video.
The web site has changed recently and the quality of the video sucks, but toward the end is a couple seconds of torque roll.

Full scale planes have been torque rolling alot longer then r/c planes. The first torque roll was done by charlie hillard in 1972 in the Pitts S1S.

Sean Tucker also does double hammerheads. A.K.A. 540 stall turns.

Wow, I wonder how hard that has to be trying to control it from inside the cockpit doing a manuever like a hover
