My new BME Ultimate!
 

Here are some pics of my new (new to me) plane. 37% BME Ultimate with BME 110 Extreme. This thing is fantastic, does everything well. Just wanted to show it off. Took some video today, hopefully my buddy wil have it edited for posting soon.. By the way, Im the guy watching. I was letting my good friend Bob help me wring it out.

Just curious, what's the deal with the distribution of the new BME planes? Not sure why you just can't buy it directly from Keith where you buy the BME engine.

BME Aircraft is not a part of BME engine he just uses the BME name
because of all the advertisement Keith had done in the beginning

You recognize that place eh Todd? I cant imagine why it looks so familiar! ;)

Made the 1st addition to the Ultimate yesterday, an I4C C-Volt on the Rx battery. I want to put that other pack in there so bad but I just cant bring myself to add any weight it flies so well like it is....[8D]

I actually let the Ignition pack get down on me the other day, it was apparent as soon as it fired though. Really missed and popped a lot at 4.8V under a load. From here on out anything under 5V under a 1Amp load is a no-go on the ignition pack.


BTW,,, Your little princess has my little princess sewing purses semi professionally. She has fabric strewn all over the house and has brought my wifes machine back from the grave.

BTW BTW, while we had my wifes sewing machine out I got a wild hare and figured out how to make my own wingbags for the ultimate the other day,,, they came out absolutely professional. The local fabric store even had the fabric backed foam that www.wingbags.com uses for their liner in stock, I used black and blue canvas for the outer shell. They look like they were made at the factory. Sewn in velcro to close em up, carrying handles, wingtube slots and all. I actually made a bag for each wing but I am planning on going back and sewing a flap to attach each pair of bags together permanantly.

Yes that's the pink one After Henderson that year I redid all the colors.

Seriously, it is. Todd couldnt hang with the pink. Regardless of the color it is one heckuva flyer. I have found that I can actually hover and torque roll very well since I got this plane. Its a 3D'n machine. It is especially good at elevators, harriers, rolling harrier and all sorts of spins. It has absolutely no wingrock or stall tendencies whatsoever. 100% stable in a harrier/elevator. Fact is I have only found one thing it doesnt do real well and that is snap roll. Its either a deep snap or a modified aileron roll, its tough to get it to break and form good nose and tail cones. Personally for what I want it for (3D) the snaps are great, they are tight, crisp and easy to stop on a dime.

Now that I .... oh yeah.. C Volt was change #2. I also added longer elevator servo arms, so I couldget more down elevator throw for waterfalls. That baby will really wind up in a waterfall or KE spin now. I left the high rate up elevator throw the same on rates 2 and 3, 43 degrees. I actually just added a 3rd rate so I could get that additional down elevator, now on rate #3 I am getting about 55 degrees of down elevator and 43 degrees of up elevator, perfect!

Now why couldn't the factory plane have that color scheme.. ! I like the plane, but the prospect of stripping all that miserable red and blue ChinaKote was too much for me...

That plane you have BigNed is one of the nicest looking Ultimates I have seen. I really wish these ARF companies offered ARCs.

Bigned...Nice Ultimate...I have one very simular to yours ...I need a motor , servo arms and a rudder servo set up.I have 8611's for everthing but the rudder.I am considering going with a sieko or 2 8611's for rudder control. What size servo arms did you upgrade to and how did you set up your rudder? Lou

WOW, yours looks very similar to mine. I wonder if they are covered in a scheme from a scale plane. I bought mine used, I didnt cover it myself.

I also bought mine used...I believe they were early prototype models...mine was stripped of all servos and linkages and motor but I hope to have it flying soon:D

The one you have is the first prototype and I redid the scheme so
the one that rcalbuquerq has, is the second prototype with the same scheme
and was the plane that was built to do the instructions

The 110 is a monster engine. I was pretty suprised at the power it had from the get go and then even stronger after 4-5 flights.

Kudos to Chris Maier for his TOC level flying skills...

Look for the article in FLYRC in a couple of months.

Pretty Awesome huh? I just got back from Waco this week and Keith fixed my engine. I had a bad ignition, it was only firing on one cylinder at low RPM. Replaced the ignition pack and now it purrs at low idle and absolutely screams with a 27x10 BME prop. The power is just ridiculous. The plane isnt too bad either! It just gets better everytime I fly it.
