RE: 3W Extra 36%

A friend of mine has one. It's actually quite large. There is definately a noticable size difference when sitting next to a 33% plane. His weight came out around 31 or 32#. Sounds heavy but keep in mind the size of the plane. Not sure how the web site says 25-28#. He has a DA100 in it with Pefa canisters. The cans added a pound, pound and a half tops, but there's no way it could have gotten down to 25#. Its size however puts it in a area where a 100cc motor doesn't give it the best performance for 3D. A 150cc would be overkill and raise the wing loading. A 120cc is heavier and not much more power than the a good 100. I've flown it lots of times but he only had it set up for sequence flying (No 3D deflection set up in the radio yet). It flies real light (lot of squares for a 106" span) and is the easiest landing giant scale plane I've ever flown.

RE: 3W Extra 36%

I have a freind Pedro jordan who flies a 36% 3w. It has a 3w 140 in it and this plane wins contests. Not to sell pedro short he has the skills but the plane fly's on rails. With the 140 he has a three blade prop on the plane so down lines are nice and slow. Pedro first started with a 3w qs106 which flew the plane good but not with the authority that the 140 has. As far as wing loading forget the numbers the plane flies light. Good luck
