Help with Basic Sequence

I have been practicing the basic sequence and have a question about entry and exit heights on manuvers 2, 3,5,8,9. According to the Aristi chart it looks like all these manuvers are entered higher that what they are exited. I have watch a video of the sequence and it is really hard to determan where they are entering and exiting. Is there a sertain height differance? Example, the differance between the entrance and exit should be 1/3 of the total height of the manuver? I have also read through the walk thru on the IMAC site and I dosn't specify any of the entry or exit heights.

Thanks,
Plane Addicted

RE: Help with Basic Sequence

There is no criteria for the height you must enter or exit a maneuver. They will flow from one to the next. In other words, if one maneuver ends low, the next one will start low. For the ones you listed, the aresti is drawn this way so you will know what direction to fly them. All of these will enter and exit at approximately the same altitude.

Let me know if you need a better explanation.

Good Luck

So, for instance a loop you must enter and exit at the same height(to keep it round), however a humpty bump, sharks tooth, hammer head ect... you are not judged on your entrance and exit height? It just seems like that would be part of the judging criteria.

I suggest that you go here:

http://www.mini-iac.com

Download the Judging Summary Card. It will answer most of your questions.

While you are there you should also grab the Aresti Made Simple article, the Aresti Dictionary and also the actual rules. All of these are really nice to have.

RE: Help with Basic Sequence

OK, in the basic sequence the following figures should start and stop at the same altitude:
#1 Roll
#4 Loop
#5 Half-Cuban 8
#9 Half-Reverse Cuban 8
#10 180 degree aerobatic turn

The rest of the figures can vary in entry and exit altitudes with no downgrades.

I was mistaken previously about the Cubans

I agree with Aresti, you really need to download the rules from the IMAC site. There is a huge amount of information there.

Just remember for any rolls or snaps on up and downlines, they should be in the centre of the line.

Aresti,
According to the judging card, all horizontal and vertical 8's (Cubans) are required to have the same entry/exit. Was my statement incorrect because this is a half-cuban? If so, could you point me to the place in the rules that state this, because I couldn't find it specifically last night?

Thanks
gh
