Getting Started in IMAC
Me and another guy are thinking about getting into IMAC. Unforutanetly, the only contests that are scheduled now are in other states. We still want to learn and practice the routine for the beginner/sportsman class. Is there anyway we can get the sequence so we can at least practice. There's a 99% chance that I will join IMAC, but i'm going to wait for the beginning of the year.

RE: Getting Started in IMAC
Ben,
The current sequences are available on the IMAC site: www.mini-iac.com Next year's sequences are in developement- if you join IMAC, you can see the proposals and comment. If not, you'll have to wait until they are finalized. There were two IMAC contests within an hour and a half of your location: Parker, CO: Crosswinds contest Littleton, CO: JEFCO contest Mike Hurley is in Colorado. He writes the Scale Aerobatics column in Model Aviation. He is a great resource. Check the IMAC site under SW region, contest results for listings of contests held this year. The contest CD's are another great resource. Dave Michael |
RE: Getting Started in IMAC
Ben,
Check out the IMAC website and the SW Region New Section. We have a lot of contests in the SW Region. In Colorado you will want to contact Brian Pesch, Gary Jones or Bert Sutton. They are the CD's for the contests in Colorado. Like Dave said Mike Hurley, also lives in Colorado, and can give you some info on the Scale Aerobatics activities in Colorado. Mike's e-mail is in Model Avaition. Brian, Bert and Gary's e-mails can be found in the SW Region Contest Results section. On the IMAC website, select Regions, then Southwest in the drop down menus. www.mini-iac.com All the regions in the country are winding down their 2005 contest seasons. In the SW things will get started again, for 2006, in December in Mesa, Arizona with a getting started in IMAC day. We are starting to look at the 2006 contest calendar and are starting to get some dates pencilled in for events. The 2006 schedule will get more focused as we get into December and January. Glad to have you in the region and ready to give IMAC a try. Regards, Anna Wood IMAC SW Region Assistant Regional Director |
RE: Getting Started in IMAC
Anna,
Do you have a date for the IMAC day yet. As I said before, I will be there to help. Also we have set a date for the Cactus Classic. |
RE: Getting Started in IMAC
Tony,
Dec 17th.... After the Shootout and the SW Regionals are done, I am going to gather up the troops and we will get some serious planning going for the day. It looks like we will be able to do a one day Basic/Sportsman contest at EVA also in January. Should help with getting the pilots new to IMAC some low key experiance before the season gets really going in 2006. Thanks a bunch, Anna |
