Pulls to canopy!! Help
I have a 35% Giles 202. The problem I am having is when it is upside down I am having to hold a lot of down elevator. Also on my downlines it pulls to the canopy a little. The CG is correct. I know the wing is not in the center and is almost considerd a low wing but do yall think this is what would cause this. I have not tried adjusting the ailerons yet to see if that woud help. Any info would help....:)

Scott the amount of down elevator while inverted is too sujective.... If you tighten the gimbals on your radio it will feel like your are giving a lot f down if you loosten the gymbals it will feel like you are giving a little down. Also the amount of down will depend on the rates and the amount of expo used.....
The true test for IMAC CG is to pull a 45 before you get to yourself then roll inverted with ailerons when the plane is in front of you...watch the nose like a hawlk and if it climbs add nose weight if the nose falls add tail weight. Almost all planes will pitch to the canopy a little on a downline. There are two fixes. Rase both ailerons one turn of the clevace then retrim for level flight. Then test your downline...The other option you can't do because your eclipse don't have a point mix...If it did you would make the last click of throttle(idle) give you 2 or 3% down elevator..This is what I did. The nose does fall a little after the roll but Im afraid to put more weight in the tail fore it may make it pretty tail heavy. Thats according to the manual that is. But...Tom did say the CG given in the manual is conservative. SO maybe it does need some more. I hate adding weight to that thing because its already a slightly heavier plane than normal. ANother thing I wonder is if its a low wing tendency? You think that may be whats causing it? Dang it. I need some weather to trim this thing though!! Whats up with this stupid Texas weather here lately?

The manual s written to protect the mnufacturer to some extent, if you didn't put in a suggested, people would try to balance it on the trailing edge to make it 3d better right?!?!
If you balance it accordng to the trim charts that are floating around, you will get the best setup for IMAC or Pattern. You might also check your thrust line. I think that test is fly striaght and level at full throttle then cut to idle an watch what the plane does. it should slow down and drop the nose, some rise.
