IMAC... Basic #8 question please
The spin is entered from a power off stall - back off the power to idle while maintaining a nose high attitude. At the time of the full stall you enter the spin. Hope this helps - Good Luck

IMAC... Basic #8 question please
Yep - Lew got it right.
Downgrades are: not entering the spin properly - nose and wingtip should break the horizontal plane at the same time and 1 point for every 10 degrees or over/under rotation. After you finish the 2 turns, you should push forward to establish a perfectly vertical down line and recover to horizontal upright. If you snap into the spin - i.e. nose kicks up, wing comes over and then the nose heads down - the maneuver is zeroed. If you have not already done so, go to the IMAC web site --- www.mini-iac.com and download the flying nad judging guide. Lots of great information. Also, IMAC is hosting a series of Flying and Judging Seminars this Spring. The first one will be in Lebanon, OH (just north of Cincinnati). Fred Johnson (chief judge of the TOC, IMAC Nats, multiple IAC events, etc) will be the instructor. Frank Noll Jr and some of his TOC buddies will provide the flying demonstrations. This event is open to anyone. There will be a fee to cover the books and supplies. Other regions will have flying and judging seminars as well, but dates have not yet been annonced. The one in Lebanon, OH will be April 26&27. Keith |
IMAC... Basic #8 question please
I never did get the difference between a spin with the unshaded triangle vs the spin with the shaded triangle. That is what you are asking and I to do not undersand the difference. They both "LOOK" the same to me.

IMAC... Basic #8 question please
One is an inverted spin and one is a possitive spin. Same with snap rolls (shaded vs not shaded). Shaded is inverted or negative g maneuvers. Not shaded is positive g maneuvers. You do not get to inverted spins until Advnaced and negative snaps start in intermediate.
Crossover spins - i.e. inverted spin from an upright starting position or positive spin from inverted are not allowed at any lever per FAI. Hope this helps. |
