servo's
I'm starting to gather all the bits & pieces for a 35% Jtec Panzl. Servo's will be a big portion of the overall expense for this plane.
Are 5955's overkill for all surfaces? I'm more concerned about gear wear /slop than actual torque. What are you guys using? Thanks, Z |
RE: servo's
Personally I could see 5985s in the wings since there are going to be 4.. but it's not really going to save you much so it's a tough call.
Def 5955 on rudder.. could also do 85s on El. but really in the long run you will prob save some money in gears so may com close to breaking even. I dont really see something like this as overkill... its the guys who put this type of servo on a 74" or 78" plane that I consider overkill :) |
RE: servo's
Yes, the 5985's and the 5955 for the rudder was exactly what I was looking at. But, at $26.29 a set for gears, (5985) you wonder if its really worth it. After the 1st season, the 5955's would be a bargain. I just wish there was an alternative.

RE: servo's
9153 futaba two years use and still going strong with out any slop and 9152 on my elevators either one holds up real well.

RE: servo's
There is always Jr. They have great servos. They do run a little expensive but they work great. And I think if you wanted you could use a Seiko servo for the rudder. If you using pull pull.

RE: servo's
I would like to stay with Hi-Tec, at least on the ailerons, for the programability. I have the have the Hi-Tec programer and can use it to match the servo's. Servo's are a big investment for me, & I want to do it only once. Thanks for all the feed-back

RE: servo's
That's exactly what I was thinking. The lack of gear wear, and the ability to program/match throws for the ailerons are big factors for me, Aegis. What type of power supply are you using for all those digitals?
