Yes it ws Tim's plane. He sent me an email this morning, looks like it wasn't that bad. He will have it fixed, and plans on flying in the contest.

But not competing. This is my first year even thinking about it. But I'll have the Giles there for it's first flight, and several cameras and tons of film...

Saturday for sure, maybe come down again Sunday. It will be nice to see old faces and meet new ones.

Is the field hard to find? this is my first trip there. I will be coming from 70 east from Indy. and then up (north) 63 to the airport. is it that simple or is there anything I should be on the lookout for?

p.s. after practice flying today and taking the airplane apart I found the wing tube had cut its way through the phenolic block in the left wing panel. I had less than 6 " of tube holding the right panel on! one more flight and I probly would have lost it!

Hubb, it's about that simple to get to the airport. going north, it will be on your left. No signs, but there usually is a radial engined crop duster there. Pugs and I will be looking for you!

Ken and all, I had a prop get loose, spinner knocked out of balance, explode and take out the motor box. Cowling was the only thing that kept the engine with the plane. Glad I had a servo operated choke since the throttle wasn't following my stick. Made final, killed (choked) engine uneventful landing. I should have it ready for test flights by Thursday afternoon and will STILL make Clinton!

Tim,

Looks like a clean break--shouldn't be too bad to fix. I can second the kill switch. On my fourth flight with my new plane, my throttle servo mount broke free (wasn't sure what happened at the time). The plane was flying around just above idle for almost 10 minutes before it finally ran out of gas. Uneventful deadstick after that. Anyway, I have all the parts together now for the kill switch and just need to take the time to install it. See you in Clinton!

Be watchful on the left side. You will probably shoot right by it at first unless there are a bunch of people gathered around. If you do it is no big deal, just go down the road a bit and make a u-turn. Glad you saved the Staud. Can't wait to get there.

Ken, yeah the clean break did help. I've got the repairs finished and am bolting the engine and stuff back together. If I get a window in this rain, I'll test fly it this afternoon. If not, tomorrow's weather is better. Main thing is that it'll be ready for the weekend!!!!
