I've got an Aero Pro Laser w/G62.
It a good flyer but I'm having problems with low speed snaps.
Exactly what would the cure be for an aircraft that snaps out.

Wing and stab incidence is 0 degrees.
2 degrees right engine thrust.
CG is set at rearmost aft (per plans)
Weight is 15 lbs.

This is my first Laser and I'm not sure what to expect from it.
My experiences are that some aircraft are just snappy and you live with it.

15lbs with a g-62 thats good, I built 2 one at 17lbs with a q-52 and one at 18.5lbs with a g-62. The 17lb plane wouldn't snap out at low speed at all. I sold it before I could get the c.g. just right and never flew the second, sold it first time at the field. Anyhow, if you are that light do you mean that at low throttle it snaps in level flight or when you pull elevator or etc...IF the elevator isn't to sensitive and you are not climbing while inverted you could go back a little further on the c.g.. This would get the the plane flying with a slightly lower angle of attack and keep the wing from stalling. If this is your first big airplane it may seem to be flying faster then it is.

When I'm flying straight and level at slow speeds it falls off to the left as I apply elevator.
I have 45 degrees of elevator and I'd like it to mush in.
Does anyone have any ideas?

This type of plane won't just mush in like you want. Try adding power as the elevator input is applied. Sounds like it is slowing up good though.

Take it up to a good altitude and play with it at different power settings, and elevator input, maybe your adding just a tad to much elevator, The plane I sold will be around the next week or two I believe, if I see it flying I will have him slow it up to look for some type of snap tendency.

make sure the lateral balance is good. If you are using two elevator servos, make sure they travel the same at all stick settings.
If the plane likes to snap with elevator inputs, moving the CG aft will only make it worse.

Thats why I mentioned the sensitivity of the elevator. Too much throw will cause a greater pitch change, causing the wing to increase its angle of attack further than anticipated, airflow separates and the wing stalls.What happens is the plane will slow further prior to stalling which will increase the break. Weather it be nose down or off to a wing depends on lateral balance, attitude, or uncoordinated flight.

I believe I remembered right, but I could be wrong.

I think what I am wanting just can't be factored out of this airplane.
When I watch someone pull their 35-40% aerobatic airplane into a high AOA manuver, it just doesn't snap out the way this airplane does.
I first noticed it when I tried to enter a hover from straight and level flight.
I gave full up elevator and it responded with a snap, similar to a CAP 21. I was just wondering if you precision flyers had any tricks up your sleeves to address the problem.

Ahhh I see. Cut the throw down on low rates or don't pull so hard at first. Add some power just before pulling. You are changing the angle of attack to much for the wing to hold on.

This design was pre-3d so it will really take some work. It probably won't pop to vertical like you want. Practice different power settings (low) and change how much elevator you pull till you get something close.

Yes, this airplane has wood spars that overlap and are bolted together. I got it in a trade and was surprised with its good flight characteristics.
I believe Aero Pro went out of business.

I haven't seen anything from them in years, also received mine as a kit second hand.

Glad you like it z-pat, It will do good with the basic I-MAC stuff. What color is it and who'd you get it from? I use to live in Dayton.

I got this in trade for a Dyna Flite PT-19. It was ready to go sans engine and radio. I had a G-62 laying around doing nothing.
It's covered in a blue plastic with very few graphics. It really doesn't look as if it had ever been flown.
I'm not too excited about having another large airplane. 3 years ago I deceided to switch from large to profiles.
I prefer the profiles.
If I had a crew of 5 and a 40' motor home with a bi-fold door on the side, then maybe I'd enjoy the larger models.
When it comes to big uns I rather watch.
