P120 Long storage, what's best to do?
Hello everyone, happy new year...
I have a P-120 rev 5.0 that had been in storage for about 6 years. I like to use it in a jet soon. I was thinking that I should inject a little bit of turbine oil in the fuel inlet before starting it to make sure the bearings are not dry. What does Jetcat think? Is one quart of shell oil to 5 gallons of diesel ok to run it with rev 5.0 ECU?
Any advise is appreciated.
Also, can it be converted to P-120 SE Kero, serial # 879
I plan to send it in in a few weeks...
Cheers!

On P-120's, serial numbers 1996 and up are convertible to SE's. Whether it can actually be upgraded is up to JetCat but it may cost a lot. Kero start just requires the kero plug to replace the glow plug plus use of the propane solenoid for fuel to the plug. You can buy a lot of propane for what these two mod's will cost.
Diesel and 5% oil works fine.
The bearings are lubed via a "T" off the main fuel line under the hood into a needle valve which feeds the bearings. Whether putting oil in the fuel inlet gets any to the bearings is hard to say. If the engine spins freely by hand, I would just start it.
