Default Turbine hours

Guys is the turbine time stored on the turbine or on the ECU with JC.

So if you have a older turbine with a new ECU will it still show the true time?

Regards,

I believe is store in the engine itself, under statistics, total run time.

It depends upon the brand and how old.

Most of the earlier engines are in the ECU and not in the engine. This is why some manufacturers won’t warranty an engine unless the original ECU is with the engine. This is also why I never believe what hours an engine have on them. Change the ECU and all of the sudden you have a zero time engine. I have one engine that is on it’s third ECU, and another on it’s second ECU. Total Time for both engines is unknown. Those two engines TT is determined by RPM. This means if operating at half throttle, TT doesn’t accumulate as quickly at full throttle. Because of this, some of the newer engines have gone to the time when the fuel pump starts.

So, buying used engines, never believe TT. It’s the dirty little secret of the engines.

Agreed with Dan, in order to buy you really have to know those little dirty secrets.
I say in the engine, because it's a new engine.

Good luck.

All good arrived yesterday with less than an hour on it, now just have to try and remember all the setup for JC have not used one for almost 20 yrs.

Pretty nice piece turbine, the gearbox feels very solid.
