Default Current P80 ECU firmware upgrade

To: Jetcat

I have a Graupner P80 sn 1654 with ECU version 5.0J.

I believe the current firmware version is up to 5.1? and that this newest version will give you the ability to go to 123,000 rpm for 21+ lbs as well as lower ramp up time and a boost feature which dumps full throttle fuel flow when the turbine reaches half throttle if the stick is brought to full throttle. What is the current firmware version and will my turbine handle the increased thrust and lower ramp time plus the boost feature? What other big changes does the 5.1? version have over my 5.0J and what is the ramp up time in seconds without boost on the 5.1? Thanks for any help in advance.

Mike

The max RPM is a completely seperate issue from the ECU firmware version. The max RPM depends on the turbine itself. I can only speak for JetCat USA unfortunately. We do this here at JetCat USA but you might want to check with Graupner about your particular turbine. My guess is that SN 1654 could possibly be run at higher RPM, I will continue to investigate for you.

Anything above 5.0X has the feature to decrease the acceleration time. 5.1 includes features to enhance software updates for the future, i.e. you will not loose specific turbine statistical data the next time you update firmware.

Hope that helps,
