P-70 code.
 

Can someone tell me what the letter 'E' flashing alternately with the temp when I go over 100.000 rpm on my P-70. It has version 6.10C ECU which is a new ECU.
This ECU has more functions than the old ECU but can't see anything in there that I think would cause this. This happens if I throttle up slowly or rapidely but only starts after I pass through the 100,000 rpm mark. Temp is running around the 570 mark and just over 690 on a rapide axcelleration.
When I slow it down below half throttle it will go away after about a minute. When motor is first started I can throttle up and it will go to 123,000 rpm and run for about half a minute before the letter E appears. When the letter E is present it will only throttle up to about 121,000 -122,000 rpm and only idle at about 39,000 rpm. When letter E is not present it idles as it should at 38,000 rpm. The letter E dose not appeaer at the same temp each time.

bad thermocouple is my guess

E means error, most probably a temp sensor problem.

Thanks Guy's. I have two P70's both with this problem, both with only 1hr 10min run time since major rebuilds at Jetcat factory so these were both new then.They have been in storage for four years since that rebuild and I have only now got them out to use them. Don't think my chances of warranty would be any good.

Using the same or different ECUs?

I had a similar problem in my p70 but it was happening only during startup, i have dicovered that thermocouple was touching the engine body from the back side near the NGV, when i moved it little bit away from engine body the problem went away.

Matt, two different ECU's. One is the original from purchase and the other was new from rebuild.
GSM, have checked to see if touching engine body and both were clear. Have since found that screws holding the curciut board under engine front cover were only about finger tight.
have tightened up but not had a chance to run them yet. Will let you know the outcome.

Just a guess. If it is doing it on 2 motors with 2 ECU, what is common?

Check the black cable from the turbine to the ECU. A loose connection in that cable can manifest with the error you are seeing.

You can use another cable from JetCat, they are all the same.
