RE: Failsafe setup
Hello,
I am not directly familiar with a 9C, but the basic procedure is pretty generic. I will step through it, check your specific radio manual to determine the exact menus needed to access these function settings: 1.) Set the throttle travel (sometimes called ATV) to the highest level it will go in both directions (like +/- 140% in a Futaba IIRC). 2.) Go to the "failsafe" menu and set the throttle channel to "failsafe" mode (as opposed to the "hold" mode), and then set the throttle channel failsafe postion to low throttle and low trim (in other words, set the throttle failsafe postion as low as it will go). 3.) Exit the failsafe menu, go back to the travel adjust menu and set the throttle travel to +/- 75%. 4.) "Learn RC" in the JetCat ECU per the instruction in the latest version of the online manual (page 34). You should also make sure the failsafe timeout time is set correctly (no more than 2 seconds total after a failsafe to shutdown the turbine), IF you want to operate under AMA rules for turbine operation. That is described on page 31 of the online manual. The manual is available at: http://www.jetcatusa.com/PDFFiles/In...al%20V5.1E.pdf Hope that helps, Regards, |
RE: Failsafe setup
Thank You for the reply, I was referring to the 8UAPS, I had talked to someone at JetCat a few years back and was advised to set the failsafe at full throttle 100% then atv back to 75%. I just concerned that I might have set it up backwards. the text for the other radios set the failsafe at low th.and low trim. Thank you again, Rick.
