Just some questions - once I have a Model set up in my DX 8 with name, wing and tail etc. is there a way to get back into the wing and/or tail configuration without having to erase the model and start all over again ? Secondly, if I have a wing with 2 servo's for the ailerons but power these through Y-cable, do I set up the wing configuration as having 1 servo ? Hope to get an answer as I have scanned the manuals and could not find anything related.
Thanks

The Wing and Tail Types are mixes, just like any other Programmable Mix except that the DX8 decides which channels will be mixed. If you only have a 6 channel Rx and the Wing Type chooses Aux2 for one of the channels, you have to change the Wing Type to Normal and use a Programmable Mix to get the result you want.
If you use a Y Harness to connect two Aileron servos to Channel 2, you cannot use the Wing Type of Dual Aileron. You cannot adjust each servo on a Y Harness, independently, from the Tx. You would need to do that Mechanically or use a Matchbox.

Thank you but that doesn't work. If you go to the sytem menu and select the model you want to change by pressing the roller > you are automatically out of the system menu. Am I overlooking something ?

You must be on the model you want to set up first. Then go to the system menu. That menu is for the model you have already selected. Then if I remember correctly you go into Wing type and that is where you make your changes.

I hold the Roller and turn on the Tx power to access the System Menu. I can go to Model Select, choose any Model, and change any parameter, and back out to the System Menu. The only way to leave the System Menu is to scroll to Main Menu and press the Roller, or Turn Off the Tx.
