Default JR 12x with "black" display

Hi!
I have purchased a used JR12X that have a display fault.
WhenI turn on the radio the display is "black" (not blank). But if I look at it from the side, I can se all the info on the display - navigating in the menus.. works fine.
I have tested adjusting the contrast, but I get no reaction.

Must the LCD panel be replaced, or can it be something else?

Best
Oyvind

I did remove the back cover on the radio to fix the battery cover (was lose).
When I then turned on the radio, I get 4 beens and the message "Backup error 0"  :-(¨
MacGregor Industries told me that the cpu pcb must be replaced, and that the pcb costs 273GBP + it must be re-calibrated.

So then I think that I give up fixing it :-(

Is there a service menu that I can try to access?

Anyone here that have a CPU pcb to sell?

Opened the radio today, and found a faulty component on the "switch PCB"
It is component C292 and looks like a diode?
Anyone that know what i can use to replace it? Can I insert a voltage to the pin on CNPEB to do a test?
I´ll try to upload a image

C292 is a 10uF 20V capacitor. It sits across the battery supply (+Vcc), for that to blow like that, it would be either a reverse battery or high battery voltage.

You can remove it but doubt very much if it would cure the fault.

ok

Do you know the voltages on the pins on the CNPEP connector going from this PCB? So I can compare them

CN-PEB are as follows...

Pin 1 - +5V
Pin 2 - Sounder Pulses
Pin 3 - + Batt Voltage
Pin 4 - + Batt Voltage 9+Vcc)
Pin 5 - + 3. 8V approx ( 0.4 Batt Voltage )
Pin 6 - Ground

Thank you!
I´ll meshure them when I get home from work.

Is there a servicemenu or some other trick to solve the Memory error message, or do I have a faulty CPU PCB?

There is a service menu but it requires the setto be fully functional in order to access it.

The voltages seems ok, so then I guess the CPU Board is defective :-(

A new board is to expensive

It is to hard to trash the radio, so I consider modify it using a ersky9x board.. (winter project)

Thank you for the help
