Default DX5e and AR600 not communicating.

I have a DX5e and with it came an AR600 receiver unfortunately it took me a while to get all of my parts together to be in a position to test it out. When I plug the battery into the ESC and then the ESC into the receiver both LEDs are lit solid with no response of any of the control surfaces. Does any one have any insight into what might be the problem? Thx

Gene

PS. This is my first plane and I may be just doing something stupid.

Did you bind the receiver to the DX5e?

I have tried to bind the two, but from my understanding the light should be blinking when the bind plug is in and it isn't.

Put Bindplug in bind slot,Powerup Rx and you should have fastblink(bindmode), then power Tx on while holding Trainer/Bind switch back.

I called Spektrum and found out that I had the servo plugs in backwards (no documentation to tell me which wire was what). I am glad it was my ignorance rather than a bad part. Thank you all for your help.
