Further to this, I just found a manual for the 652 online. There was also one for the 8103, Are either of these sufficiently similar to the 783 to be worthwhile substitutes?

Ross,
The 378 instructions are not yet available in the US. As soon as they are, it will be put up on our website. They will be available on this page http://www.horizonhobby.com/support/manual.asp?tag=nss when they are complete.
On the 783 question, the manual for the 8103 will be closest to the 783 as the programming logic is almost identical, but there will be a few differences. Give the product support department a call at 877-504-0233 or email at [email protected] with your mailing address if you would like to get a copy of the 783 manual.
Thanks!
Danny

Rossan,
While some of the features it has are similar, the way the programming logic works is quite a bit different between the 378 and the 8103. I would not think the 8103 manual would help much with the 378.
