Default JR R790 UL receiver

After an issue the other day with a loss of control when trying to run some more fuel through my Saito 56 in my H9 Cub on the ground I think I may have found the problem. I was going to send it in to Horizon for service but found the antenna cut through 4 inches from the end. Would it be alright to solder the end back on and would the effective range be reduced? Thanks for any input provided.

Solder it. I did this many times with 72 mhz RX's, never a problem.

Thanks. I soldered it back together and reinstalled it in the plane. I'll be sure to do a thorough range check both with engine running and engine off.
