Default E-flite LP5DSM Parkzone Binding

Greetings! I just purchased a Parkzone SU-26 and am looking to bind it to my E-flite LP5DSM transmitter. I don't have the slightest idea how to bind the two together and I'm looking for a little help. Any one have any ideas? I don't have the "5-in-1" component and I just have the transmitter and no manual or any other items. Any help will be awesome.
Thanks,
Matt Tener

I don't have an LP5DSM Xmtr nor have I had a chance to use one, but the following link will take you to links to the quick start quice and the manual.

Hope that helps you.

Hi Matt

I also have the LP5DSM radio that came with my Blade CX2 Heli it is pretty limited but I think you can make it work.

This is what Horizon has to say about it:

"Will the LP5DSM E-flite Blade CX2/CX3 transmitter work with the Sukhoi?

The LP5DSM transmitter that is included with Ready-to-Fly Blade CX2 and CX3 helicopters is compatible, but does not include dual rates for optimum performance of the Ultra-Micro Sukhoi Su-26m and is therefore not recommended."

If you look at the manual for the CX-2 Heli at Horizon and go to page 38 - It tells you how to bind Basically insert bind plug, power up receiver, power up Tx, wait for solid LED light.

It will also be important to set the DIP switches under the panel on the front lower left I beleive these are their functions (2nd hand info from another forum - I would credit the original poster but did not save info )

1 - HELI/AIR Default "ON"
2 - NORM/CCPM Default "OFF" COOL!
3 - ELE+RUD Default "OFF" (V-tail mixing?)
4 - ELE+AIL Default "OFF" (Elevon mixing?)
5 - THR REVERSE Default "OFF" (Throttle Reverse)
6 - AIL REVERSE Default "ON"
7 - ELE REVERSE Default "ON"
8 - RUD REVERSE Default "OFF"
9 - Gyro/Ger Default "OFF" Maybe "Gyro/Gear" ?
10 - AUX Default "OFF"

I have no idea if this is correct or not - but it might be a startting point.

Especially switches 1 Aero/Heli Mode and 5-8 for servo reversing.

Maybe someone who has actually used the LP5DSM will chime in this is best I have to offer.

Mark

Thanks for the great info! Unfortunately, I don't have the binding plug, nor do I know where I would put it. I was given just the transmitter, which has the switches on the front, but just a trainer plug on the back and a charge plug as well. I think I might be hosed!

the bind plug goes in the receiver, I think, not the TX - but then again, I don't have one of those TX's to try, either. I know that with the spektrum receivers & transmitters, the bind plug is for the receiver. It's the receiver that has to bind to the TX, not the other way around.

Matt

Binding Plug can be puchased from Horizon or your LHS :

http://searchrc.horizonhobby.com/ind...d=1236C20ED806

Manual for the Spektrum Receiver (assuming that is the one you are using)

http://www.horizonhobby.com/ProdInfo...-UserGuide.pdf

Manual has bind instructions and the DIP switch settings to use with LP5DSM Tx

Allright! Thanks again for everyone's help. I did a little snooping around the BNF P-51 manual and it led me to some new procedures that worked. I installed the battery in the Sukhoi, then held the trainer switch on the transmitter and turned the transmitter on. It binded right up! The Sukhoi is a bit pitchy, but fun. I would definately advise anyone to utilize a tranmitter with dual rates because in flight it's quite sensitive. It will snap roll when you pull too hard as well. A lot of fun though! Thanks again for the help. The RC community is the best.

Thanks the info. about the DIP switches helped me a lot. The only things is I'm not sure what the # 1 switch does, I move it and at least on the Apprentice (airplane) it seems to do nothing.

For the Blade S300 (helicopter) all the DIP switches are off (down) but the # 8 switch is on (up).

For the Blade Apprentice (airplane) all the DIP switches are off (down) except the # 6 & 8 switches is on (up).
